The main reason we went to Oregon this year was for the Dassler family reunion which are always fun, the whole weekend was a lot of fun.

Holden bought his own sunflower plant at the farmers market for our garden back home

It was also graffiti week in Roseburg so we went to some cool car shows and a street fair type thing where the cars drove around the block and we all watched in amazement.

Not only did we get to have a great visit with one of Billy's best friends Emily,but she took us to do do a bunch a cool things in Portland like the fabric depot it was like heaven. The weather was so nice a cool 65 degrees was a nice break from our 105 degree heat here in Lancaster and one of the Ashlynn's and my favorite things was berry picking.

I eventually had to take Ashlynn out of the field because she wouldn't stop eating the blueberries

Holden's favorite thing that we did in Portland was Billy buying him his first real skateboard from a real skate shop. He got to pick out every part of it and he was so excited and I'm pretty sure Billy was equally excited to do this with him.

where has my mind gone?

I'm not sure what my problem is I keep having brain farts as the very nice police officer said. First I got my very first speeding ticket while driving to Oregon at least the cop was nice and tried to make me feel better by telling me I just had a brain fart and it happens and then said how cute Ashlynn was since she was waiving and smiling at him and then gave Holden stickers to top it all off it was terrible. Then last night I lost my keys, Billy handed them to me and I just don't remember what I did with them after that I just had a complete brain fart it's just gone not in my memory what in the world could I have done with them while riding in the car from a restaurant to walmart, maybe aliens took them and wiped my memory. And worst of all Billy tells me things and I have no recollection of the whole conversation. What ever fruit or vegetable or vitamin helps with brain function I need it, this sucks.

summer vacation

Our big trip this summer was to Oregon. We went to Roseburg first for a Dassler family reunion that was a lot of fun and then we headed up to Portland to visit some friends it was such a great trip we all had a lot of fun. Oregon is so beautiful it is such a nice change from our desert home while it was over 100 degrees in Lancaster is was only 80 degrees in Portland and we even got some rain that smelled so good we were very tempted to just stay there and never come back to California. We did so many fun things that each activity deserves it's own post.

It was such a nice drive too

The kids were really good travelers this time around too I think the dvd player helped a lot they watched some movies they slept the stretched their legs at the rest stop and then started over it was nice.

For the record I hate doing dishes so any chance we have to eat without using dishes we take, plus the kids thought it was really fun to eat out of the carton.

Holden's last day of school

Holden's class did a cute little show for us on the last day of school so we tried to make it his special day to show him how excited we are for him. The show was cute the kids sang all the songs they had learned throughout the school year and afterwards had cake and punch it was fun to watch him.
